AAM Annual Meeting 2010- PROPOSE A SESSION!!

American Association of Museums Annual Meeting 2010
Los Angeles, CA
May 23 -26, 2010

Even though we just finished up the 2009 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, its already time to begin thinking about what contributions EMPs can make to next year's conference.  At the meeting this year,  I was encouraged to hear that AAM is looking for more proposals submitted by EMPs around the country for their annual meeting.

Do you have an idea for session proposal? need to bounces your ideas off others?? Use this blog to converse with your fellow Chicago EMPs!  It would be WONDERFUL to have a Chicago EMP -led session in 2010.

Proposal Deadline for Committee Endorsement: July 10 (highly encouraged)
General Proposal Deadline: August 31

You can find out more about proposing a session for next year at http://www.aam-us.org/am10/

AAM Annual Meeting 2009 Wrap Up

If any of you attended the 2009 AAM Annual Meeting please post your comments or thoughts about the conference here. How were the sessions? Did you go to any EMP sessions? What else would you like to see at these meetings??  Our input is greatly appreciated!

To get the ball rolling I attended a thoughtful session on Women in Leadership as it relates to the arts.  The panelist were very knowledgeable and shared some eye-opening facts about how much less women make, even in our field!  The conversation was great.  Women at all stage of their careers had advice, constructive opinions, and ideas to share!
